Life lately has been crazy. I can't tell you how many tears I've shed out of stress. Anyone out there who has bought a house and especially with small kids will understand. It's been an emotionally draining week, but things are looking up. My husband and I bought close to where we currently live, and we are very close to family still! The house is a lovely California ranch style home. Three bedrooms, two baths. It's quite large, for us, 1750 square feet and it has a great yard. I'm most thrilled with the kitchen and laundry room. The project we tackled this weekend was painting. It was an extremely lengthy process but I'm very happy with the color. We went with Behr ultra premium plus paint in the color Doeskin Gray, in an eggshell finish. The previous colors were a dark tan with brown accent walls. The paint was in good shape but it just wasn't our style.

It's really hard doing all of this with a baby. Just taking the tape off the walls this morning made Isla scream and cry because the sound scared her. Needless to say it's pretty overwhelming, but I've got a handle on things. One step at a time and it will all get finished eventually!
Next project is patching up all the weird gaps and holes in the baseboards and crown molding, and then painting with a white semi-gloss paint to really freshen up the rooms! I apologize for my absence, we've been living off of Starbucks and Jack in the Box. I'm not proud of that, but you do what you have to when you don't have a kitchen and everything is in boxes! We can't move in until my husband is back home from work. But I plan to keep sharing these little projects, and I can't wait to show you the kitchen!
