Adobo Fire Roasted Margherita Pizza

Premade dough can be a lifesaver on nights where you want to cook, but don't want to cook for hours and do a lot of prep work. So grab some ready made dough and let's get to it!

Adobo Fire Roasted Margherita  Pizza
      makes 10 servings
  • 14 ounce can diced Adobo Fire Roasted organic tomatoes + splash of water
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 8 ounces Italian blend cheese (mozzarella, provolone, Parmesan, Romano, fontina, asiago)
  • 2 ounces fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 3 large cloves garlic, smashed
  • about 12 grape tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 lb. pizza dough, I used the Trader Joe's pre-made Garlic & Herb dough
  • garlic oil or olive oil for both the red sauce and for brushing on the dough
  • salt + pepper to taste

Preparation & Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Roll out the pizza dough until it's thin enough for your liking, we tend to enjoy thinner crusts. While the oven preheats cook the onions, low and slow make 'em sweat! Once the onions has softened add in the garlic and tomato paste, cook for one minute while stirring. Add the canned tomatoes and cook while the oven preheats and while you start your crust.

Bake pizza dough for 6 minutes before you layer on the ingredients, that way it will get cooked some in the middle. Top with all of your ingredients and then bake another 6 minutes, and then a few minutes under the broiler if you like your cheese browned. Enjoy!
